Welcome to My World of Children’s Picture Books

Hi, I’m Jonathan, a children’s author, illustrator and storyteller with a love for unusual characters and stories that leave a little something behind after the final page.

Using drawing, cut paper, fabric, wool, cardboard and photographed textures, I create colourful, handmade worlds filled with humour, adventure and heart.

My hope is simple: to make books children enjoy returning to, while planting small seeds of curiosity, compassion and faith along the way.

The Beatitudes for Little Ones

Little Hearts, Big Blessings is a continuing picture-book series introducing young children to the Beatitudes, Jesus’ teachings about blessing, including mercy, humility and making peace.

Following the same six friends, each story explores kindness, forgiveness, courage and comfort in places children know well, from the playground and nursery to home and beyond.

The first two books available now:

Twelve titles are initially planned, with the remaining ten released one per month from November 2026.

And that is only the beginning. The series is designed to continue growing, with new stories, settings and everyday blessings still to come.

Read-Aloud Sessions

Little Hearts, Big Blessings will be at the heart of my read-aloud sessions in schools and community settings.

Through storytelling, sharing illustrations and gentle conversation, I hope to give children space to wonder, ask questions and explore how kindness and faith can shape everyday life.

The Bible That Survived the Fire

Eleven carefully sourced accounts of Bibles discovered after fires, storms, floods and war invite children to explore evidence, eyewitness reports and faith. Alongside these stories, the book considers how books can survive extreme conditions, without treating the Bible as a magical object.

An orange thread winds through the illustrations as a quiet symbol of hope. Above all, the book reminds readers that people are more precious than possessions, and that the Bible’s message becomes visible through courage, compassion and practical love.

Many of these books belong to The Merry-Go-Round Series, created especially for children aged 3 to 5. Several began as vivid dreams in 2017, followed by rough sketches and little doodles that gradually grew into fully illustrated stories.
